It’s a Small World Ride at Disney World

This ride needs no introduction. Everyone has heard of this ride, It’s a Small World. This was my favorite ride when I was a child. I can remember hearing this song over and over again. Why on earth does this make me teary eyed?

Space Mountain at Magic Kindgom in Disney World

I have fond memories of Space Mountain. When I was a little girl, my father stood in line with me to ride Space Mountain. When I got to the front of the line, I was scared. I asked my dad if the ride went upside down. Unfortunately, someone told him yes. We got out of line. I never got to ride it with my dad.

Unfortunately, my dad passed away this year. A few months later, my family and I went to Disney World. I rode Space Mountain for the first time in my life. I could literally remember the part where my dad and I stood in line waiting to hop on the coaster when we asked someone if it went upside down, although it had been over 2 decades since I stepped foot in that building. Weird how the memory works. I am not 100% sure if Space Mountain is the SAME ride as it was back in 1985-86, but I remember the blue lights. This is for my dad.

Tower of Terror at Hollywood Studios

One of my favorite rides at Hollywood Studios is Tower of Terror. I have never been a fan of rides that fall straight down because it makes my heart feel funny, but this one wasn’t bad at all. It was GREAT! It goes up and down, and you never know where you will go. People were usually laughing, instead of screaming out of fear! I could feel my bottom lift up off the seat because it was so much fun!

The video is dark when the people are riding the elevator up and down because …well you are in the dark riding this ride! It is way more fun than the video makes it looks like (Undercover Tourist did a great job with the video, it is just one of those rides you have to ride to really see the fun!).

Just a note to parents: PLEASE do not be one of THOSE parents that FORCES their child on the ride because you don’t have a babysitter. Yes, I got in someone’s business at Disney World. I was the mom out there who spoke up for a child that was REALLY crying because he had rode it 5-10 times in a row, and he was seriously scared, shaking hysterically, and looked like he was going to vomit. MAYBE he was 5 or 6. Guess what? My husband and I took turns riding this ride because I didn’t think my 4 year old was old enough for this ride. Even the Disney employee was trying to convince her to get her own kid off.

Thanks for letting me rant. Here is the ride:

Disney World’s Haunted Mansion

One of my most favorite rides at Disney World is the Haunted Mansion. This attraction is located at the Magic Kingdom in Liberty Square. This ride is “fun for everyone” according to Disney’s website.

Young Children: I took my son when he was 2 and 4. At 2 years of age, he didn’t understand what was going on anyways. At 4, he was quiet but liked it. He claims he was not scared. As a parent, I did think it was too scary either. However, they do offer the parent baby swap/rider switch if you would prefer to do this! I am not the type of parent that will force my child to ride something if he doesn’t want to (parents, don’t do this, please!).

Wheelchair- Guests must transfer from a wheel chair to the motorized ride.

Plus Sized Passengers: There is a bar that comes down and there is plenty of room to fit. As a larger overweight person, I personally did not have any problem with any ride at Disney World.

My memories: I have vivid memories of this ride when I was a child. My favorite part is at the end of the ride when a ghost looks back at you in the mirror!
